Portion of Big Bend National Park to start winter hours

Visiting Mexico through the Boquillas Crossing Port of Entry is an opportunity for visitors possessing a valid passport.

BIG BEND NATIONAL PARK, Texas — Big Bend National Park will soon be experiencing a change of hours.

Starting on November 2, the Boquillas Port of Entry and the protected areas of Maderas del Carmen, Ocampo, and Cañon de Santa Elena will operate on winter hours.

This means the port will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesdays through Sundays. The park will be open November 1-3 during the transition.

Visitors will be able to cross to the town of Boquillas by foot (during low water only) or by rowboat ferry for a fee.
