MIDLAND COUNTY, Texas — Thirty-eight people were arrested for solicitation of prostitution thanks to a "John sting" by several agencies in the Midland-Odessa area, according to the Midland County Sheriff's Office.
From Jan. 10 through Jan. 13, Midland County Sheriff's Office, Texas DPS Midland CID Special Agents, DPS Intelligence and Counter Terrorism, Homeland Security Investigations, Odessa Police Department and Midland Police Department worked together on the operation.
The goal of the "John sting" was to identify and arrest people soliciting prostitutes and maximize the rescue of human trafficking victims.
According to jail records, 12 were arrested by MCSO, one was arrested by MPD and 25 were arrested by Texas DPS.
Five were arrested on Jan. 10, three on Jan. 11, 16 on Jan. 12, two on Jan. 13 and 12 on Jan. 14.
