MIDLAND, Texas — Midland County Judge Terry Johnson has signed a declaration of disaster due to the flooding in the area.
The declaration will last seven days, unless renewed by commissioners, and activates the county's emergency management plan.
Johnson also tells NewsWest 9 he has requested help from the Governor's office.
Several people in the area are still reporting massive amounts of flooding, and the county is working to make adjustments so future rainfall does not cause as many issues.
