MARTIN COUNTY, Texas — A man from Oklahoma died in a crash Thursday morning, according to a Texas Department of Public Safety press release.
The fatal accident happened at 6:45 a.m. on Thursday.
Preliminary information revealed that a 55-year-old man driving a Kenworth truck with a trailer was stopped on State Highway 176 while attempting to turn onto County Road 3600.
44-year-old Dee Jay Moler, driving a Hyundai Elantra, was behind the truck.
Moler failed to control his speed and struck the rear of the trailer.
DPS stated in the release that Moler was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Kenworth truck driver was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
