BIG SPRING - Big Spring is one step closer to moving forward with its new truck reliever route.
On Thursday, the Texas Transportation Commission approved funding for the Highway 87 truck reliever route.
The commission identified the project as a priority.
With the approval, officials will be able to start on the second phase sooner than expected.
Officials say $80 million will go towards the northern section of the route.
