Jason Freund joined the team as Multi-Skilled Journalist in 2022.
He is originally from San Diego, where he graduated from San Diego State University in 2022 with a degree in Journalism.
Previously, he has worked as a sports editor with the SDSU student newspaper and as a field producer with KUSI, a San Diego news station.
He has quickly grown into his new role as an MSJ. So far, he has covered the water main break in Midland and assisted with the coverage of the November elections. He also covered high school football as part of NewsWest 9 GameTime.
When he is not reporting the news, he usually spends his free time watching whatever sports are on TV, playing video games or going for a run.
Jason is excited to learn everything about the Permian Basin while growing in his career as a Journalist.
