4th of July celebrated a little early in Big Spring

The event is called "Pops In The Park" and it was held for the 27th time.

BIG SPRING, Texas — In Big Spring, the town celebrated Independence Day a day early, with the 27th Annual Pops In The Park.

The 4th of July celebration took place at the Comanche Trail Park Amphitheater.

There was music, food and of course plenty of fireworks, almost $25,000 worth.

Pops In The Park Chair Manny Negron said the loads of fireworks and more make the event the best in the west.

"So the big thing about Pops In The Park is we're, I'm going to say the best show in West Texas for the Fourth of July. But we have the Big Spring Symphony and the fireworks go in sync during our firework show," Negron said. "It's a great atmosphere, great feelings, great to hear some great patriotic music."
