ODESSA, Texas — The City of Odessa wants to give you a tree, free of charge.
The city’s Neighborhood ShadeMakers Apache Tree Giveaway Program is an opportunity for anyone looking to take a tree home, add some landscaping to their yard and create some shade while doing so. There is a one-tree limit per household while supplies last.
To receive a tree, one must apply on the city of Odessa website. Keep Odessa Beautiful will then contact you to arrange a pick-up time and location to receive your tree. There are many different types of trees on site to choose from, but a particular type of tree someone may be looking for is not guaranteed.
A valid e-mail address and phone number must be provided so that the success of the tree’s growth can be tracked.
The program started on Feb. 1 and ends Feb. 29.
