The Jesus House Odessa is spreading joy during the holidays with free produce giving

The Jesus House's "Free Produce Giving" started just over a year ago. The executive director of the Jesus House tells NewsWest 9 that the turnout has increased.

ODESSA, Texas — The Odessa community has something to be thankful about this holiday season. The Jesus House Odessa is continuing their "Free Produce Giving" Thursday.

Since it started, just over a year, the number of people coming to get items has increased.

On Wednesday, which was Senior Day, Jesus House had 97 people standing in line for free produce.

During the week of Nov. 27, they had over 100 people standing in line.

Despite that, the Executive Director of the Jesus House Donny Kyker said there's plenty to go around.

"It's has been very busy. We're getting people from all over the world now," Kyker said. "We have some guests that come over into our country and we welcome anybody here that needs food and so we have a food pantry, we have produce, good meals and it's all free of charge for anybody."

Jesus House's Produce Market is only on Wednesdays and Thursdays. You can either attend one day or the other, you just can't do both.
