Recent high school graduates compete at Miss Juneteenth Pageant in Midland

This event not only served as the kickoff for Juneteenth celebrations in Midland, but also provided valuable support to the youth in the West Texas community.

MIDLAND, Texas — On Wednesday night, June 19, recent high school graduates competed in the Miss Juneteenth Pageant at the MLK Community Center for scholarships, aiming to further their education. 

The pageant included categories in expression wear, talent, self-interviews and formal wear.

This event not only served as the kickoff for Juneteenth celebrations in Midland, but also provided valuable support to the youth in West Texas. 

Last year’s first and second-place finishers received a $1,500 check.
