MIDLAND, Texas — As kids head home for Winter Break, Midland teachers got a special holiday treat courtesy of the community.
Diamondback Energy, Stone Gate Fellowship, First Baptist Church and more held their Winter Wishes Spectacular at the Bush Convention Center Tuesday.
They invited out Midland teachers from Midland ISD and charter schools to pick up some free supplies, and to enter to win some pretty neat gifts like Keurig coffee makers, printers and much more.
"Teachers get to come in, mix and mingle with those of other schools and get their supplies and walk away with a full heart knowing their community cares for them," Diamondback Energy Public Affairs Representative Erin Bailey said.
In all, more than 700 teachers from MISD and Midland charter schools came out to enjoy the event.
If you missed Tuesday's festivities, don't worry, you can stop by the Bush Convention Center from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday for Day 2 of the Winter Wishes Spectacular.
