ODESSA, Texas — What a better way to warm up in the cold weather than with some warm chili and a little heated competition.
HVAC Experts in Odessa held their chili cook-off on Tuesday.
It's a little annual event and they are in their fifth year of doing it.
It's all about building camaraderie with their colleagues while also building culture.
"It has grown and grown from now, we're up to 13 pots of chili," HVAC Experts Owner Wendy Altom said. "From three pots of chili to 13 is growth and we are loving it and we think it's fun."
Dispatch Manager Kaitlyn Klein agrees that chili is all about warming up when it is cold.
"We do it because we're getting into the cold season, we want to warm up, especially with it being 30 degrees outside," Klein said. "We wanna warm up and let everyone taste and be cozy in the process of it."
Each pot of chili was judged on best flavor, the spiciest, most unique and best overall.
