Odessa College hosts Summer Bash in downtown

Families at the Summer Bash enjoyed food trucks, a splash pad, yard games, music and more.

ODESSA, Texas — Odessa College got the summer started on Tuesday night with their Summer Bash event at OC Downtown.

Families were welcomed to enjoy food trucks, a splash pad, yard games, music and more.

The event was all part of Permian Basin Gives to help raise money for non-profits in West Texas.

Odessa College partnered with Torchy's Tacos, Starbucks on 5th St. and Chipotle as part of their Wrangler Give-A-Thon. A portion of the proceeds being donated went to the Odessa College Foundation.

Odessa College Vice President of Advancement Allisa Cornelius talked about the excitement of the event for the community.

"So today it was about Permian Basin Gives. And that's an opportunity for this community to give generously," Cornelius said. "We always look for ways to serve the community. This is such a wonderful event. There's so many kids running around splashing, jumping in the jumpers. So we're really excited to have this event."

Cornelius said the goal was to raise $15,000 and they exceeded that goal and raised $28,000 for OC.
