NewsWest 9 isn't quite a chocolate factory, but we did get the chance to help out our friends at the Permian Basin Rehab Center today who Wonka style.
PBRC stopped by our NewsWest 9 studios to do a photoshoot of a "Willy Wonka" movie poster that will promote their "PBRC Steakout" fundraiser later this year.
It's an event where they find a movie to become the theme of the Steakout, and they have tons of teams cooking steaks as part of their cookout.
"The Rehab Center has been around since 1953 providing physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational and audiology services to adults in the 35 counties in Permian Basin," Executive Director Kim Ortega said. "We have fundraising events to raise funds so patients in need of the services, but have no resources or insurance to cover it, can financially assist them so they get the services they need to walk, crawl, or communicate to make their lives better. All the fundraisers that we have help us be able to do that for our patients - your family, your friends, your neighbors."
This year's PBRC Steakout will kick off in late September, and all the proceeds help the Rehab Center provide the care to those in our community.
