MIDLAND, Texas — The Salvation Army of Midland and Odessa was reaching out to those less fortunate on Thursday.
They held their resource fair with several vendors available.
The fair is designed to help out people who are homeless or live in low-income housing.
Volunteers were there to help people get access to mental health services, food banks and social security services.
The Salvation Army also had a chance to help those get back on their feet.
"Yeah, the community, they love it. They are able to go into one location, get the different information; Thriving United is here, Casa de Amigos. There's some people from the hospital here that are giving free flu and COVID shots. They're also doing STD testing for anyone that might want to have that [done]," said Mikell McLaughlin, community relations for The Salvation Army.
For the staff at Midland-Odessa Salvation Army, they told NewsWest 9 these fairs are always about helping out the homeless and helping them get off the streets.
