ODESSA, Texas —
The Silver Spur Gun and Blade Show was in Odessa over the weekend. People from both Midland and Odessa came out to check what this year's show had to offer.
But gun shows aren’t just for gun and knives enthusiasts.
You can find all kinds of things at a gun show if you look hard enough.
“There’s more than guns and knives here," said Kim Sansom, show organizer for Silver Spur Trade Shows. "We got seasoning, we got coins, survival stuff, so it’s all encompassing.”
There are also all sorts of craft products or even home decor items as well.
Vendors not selling guns and knives don’t feel left out or anything at all when showcasing their wares.
They tend to feel like their stuff complements well with the main focus of a gun and blade show.
“Well it works out really good for me. People are looking for different things that are out of the ordinary things," said Jim Johnson, owner of Hub City Coin Works. "The thing I do is make rings out of coins, which is very unique. Done lots of birth years and things like that. Lots of big rings, lots of Texas rings; people really like those.”
Johnson feels that business experience in the Midland-Odessa area in general has been good to him and it’s what always keeps him coming back.
“It’s been really good, good turnout, like the people, they’re friendly and cordial. It’s been a really good experience for me,” Johnson continued.
The Gun and Blade will be making its way to the Midland Horseshoe on Feb. 3rd.
