MIDLAND, Texas — SisterDough and the West Texas Food Bank are partnering for a very special National Donut Day.
SisterDough will have some of their famous donuts available at the WTFB Midland facility from 9 to 10 a.m. on June 7. The donuts will be free with a donation to the food bank.
These craft donuts do go fast though so make sure you get there early enough.
The cause is important to Priscilla Garcia, the owner of SisterDough.
"This community means a lot to me, I mean this is our town. I've lived here all my life," said Garcia.
"My children grew up here. I want to instill in them the values of giving back to others for less or unfortunate because we've been in the same situations."
The proceeds for the event will go towards helping the food bank supply meals for those in need, including the summer feeding program which helps children who often rely on school lunches to receive food for the day.
"There's a lot of families that struggle to put food on their table and especially during the summer time, and having children it's hard for other kids to have a meal, so we wanna give back to the summer feeding program for children," said Garcia.
