ODESSA, Texas — The City of Odessa celebrated the opening of their second dog park Tuesday, the Peggy Grace Lee Park.
The park is located in the Desert Ridge Area and was built from money donated by Larry Lee and his family.
It is named after Larry Lee's late mother.
The park is for dogs of all sizes. It has a playground, pavilions, a walking trail and basketball courts that will all benefit the city.
"It's amazing man...doing what we do, just to see a smile on one kid. It fits and makes your heart a little happier. This is what were in it to do. I mean it's big it's huge because what we're doing is we're trying to provide the quality of life," said Max Reyes, director of Parks and Recreation. "We want everybody to come out and get some sun, get some exercise. So I mean Parks and [Recreation] to me is one of the biggest things that can happen to a city."
Reyes also told NewsWest 9 that this is their 35th park and they will not stop there. They hope to renovate and build other parks in other areas around the city.
