MIDLAND, Texas — A local Midland business is looking to expand sometime next year.
And the new location won't be too far away.
Kokomo, which specializes in various kinds of Asian snacks like Korean corn dogs and mochi donuts, will be getting a new location in Odessa.
Co-owner Samantha Huynh started the business with her sister and the two have been running their Midland location together since then.
“It’s been really amazing," Huynh said. "My sister is wonderful, and she has a lot of experience in business because she owns a different one. So, when we came together, she definitely helped me, and our ideas just come together. We're just so passionate about here and this is kind of like our baby.”
But Hyunh also says that they wouldn’t be where they are today without the community of Midland.
"We definitely owe it to our community because bringing something different was a little bit scary because we weren't sure how it'd be," Huynh added. "[The] community's been so amazing with that and just supporting us and our family."
She adds that community support goes a long way in helping her to support her family.
“Definitely honored and grateful for everything, because we’ve definitely come a long way,” Huynh continued.
Hyunh says that they hope to have the Odessa location up and running by sometime in March 2024.
