Chevron helps Salvation Army Angel Tree kids

"We've had a long standing history working with Salvation Army," said Valerie Acosta, the public and government affairs advisor for Chevron.

MIDLAND, Texas — Chevron stepped up to help The Salvation Army in a big way Friday.

In their office, NewsWest 9 was able to see all the toys they collected for the Salvation Army's Angel Tree Program.

The toys will go to West Texas children so they can be blessed this Christmas.

"We've had a long standing history working with Salvation Army," said Valerie Acosta, the public and government affairs advisor for Chevron. "This is my second year. Last year we did 200 angels. This year we were able to match that. The families here at Chevron know what it's like to have something under their tree and we're lucky to be part of that."

All the toys collected Friday will be handed out the week of Dec. 16.
