ODESSA, Texas — For children it's extremely difficult to deal with disaster or crisis, but having a little comfort helps.
That's why University of Texas Permian Basin's (UTPB) Social Work Club is hosting a fundraiser to buy teddy bears. These teddy bears will be given to first responders to give to children in crisis situations.
So why are the teddy bears so important?
"You know when a child is scared, they usually need one small thing they can understand to help get them through the moment, to help them process it," said UTPB Social Work Club Founder Zariah Soto.

The club will also be hosting a fundraising event on Nov. 20 in front of the student activity center from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The club will also be selling snacks with supplies donated by Tropical Stop.
All the money raised will go toward their teddy bear goal.
