Four law enforcement agencies in West Texas receive $140,000

The announcement was made by Bustin For Badges on Thursday.

ODESSA, Texas — A lot of money was given out to four law enforcement agencies in West Texas by Bustin For Badges on Thursday.

Back in May, Bustin For Badges hosted their 11th Annual Clay Shoot to raise money for new equipment and technology for the Midland and Odessa Police Departments, and the Midland and Ector County Sheriff's Offices.

Bustin For Badges was able to raise more money than last year with the help of the community.

"This is our 11th year and we are going strong. When we started this eleven years ago, we didn't know how big it was going to be," said Jimmy Young, president of Bustin For Badges. "We stepped up the plate. This community knocked a home run. This year, we are giving each agency $140,000, a lot of money. Our first year, we gave out $25,000 to each agency. So, you know, we've grown pretty fast."

The money will go towards vests, tools and more.
