ARLINGTON, Texas — The Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation and Chevron have teamed up to distribute $50,000 in grants to youth organizations in Midland and Odessa, according to an announcement on Friday.

This is the first year they are doing this.

The Midland-Odessa youth organizations receiving the grants are Casa de Amigos, First Tee - West Texas, Midland Junior Baseball, Society of Professional Engineers - Permian Basin Section and Young Women's Leadership Academy of Midland.

“We are proud to join Chevron in making an impact on the Midland-Odessa region through this first-ever grant program,” said Karin Morris, senior VP of community impact and executive director of the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation. “This marks an exciting step forward in supporting local organizations, and we are thrilled to see these grants begin to make a difference in the community.”

The chosen youth organizations will be honored during a check presentation pre-game ceremony at the Rangers-Mariners game on Saturday.

“Chevron proudly supports non-profit organizations and schools that are empowering youth in the communities where we operate,” said Nicole Barber, public and government affairs manager for Chevron’s Mid-Continent business unit. “It’s an honor to partner with the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation to expand our support for youth in West Texas through this new grant program. Congratulations to all the grant recipients.”
