The City of Midland out bidding again for new contractor for recycling centers, project delayed for a few months

Midland City Council is back out bidding for new citizens collection stations.

MIDLAND, Texas — The City of Midland is going back out to bid for new citizens collecting stations, where you can take your recyclables, yard waste and bulky items.

The City believed that the previous contractor was unable to properly fulfill the project.

The project would've seen two new citizens collection stations come to Midland, one near the Big Sky Drive In, off of I-20, and the other near Texas 349 by the new water tower.

"So we had to bid out and we weren't able to work things out with the contractor," Midland City Councilman At-Large Dan Corrales said. "So we're putting it out to bid again so we can get someone who is willing to work with us to get that in efficiently, on time and with quality."

These new bids will delays the project by at least a few months.
