Decision made on former Odessa City Manager John Beckmeyer's payment following resignation

After Beckmeyer's resignation, he was expected to be paid $700,000. Then, a judge put a temporary restraining order on that payment.

ODESSA, Texas — A decision has been made on if former Odessa City Manager John Beckmeyer will be getting paid the $700,000 he was expected after he resigned at an Odessa City Council meeting during the week of Nov. 11.

According to NewsWest 9's Camryn Leal at Odessa City Council Tuesday night, city council approved Item #20, which will remove the immediate payment of approximately $700,000 to Beckmeyer that the previous city council agreed upon.

This approval also comes after a judge put a temporary restraining order on the payment on Nov. 13.
