Early 'Trick or Treating' at the Brookdale Senior Living in Midland

Brookdale Senior Living brought out the community in Midland with an early "Trick or Treating" event on Thursday evening.

MIDLAND, Texas — Halloween is one short week away, and the Brookdale Senior Living in Midland started their "Trick or Treating" early on Thursday evening.

The doors were open for all the kids in the community to stop by and get some candy. The event was a part of the inter-generational "Trunk or Treat" that featured games, goodies, costumes and fun.

"I love it, I think it is so fun, and the residents are out here loving it. We've had a few 'Trick or Treaters' with residents, they've been handing out candy and it's fun," said Liz Karvonen, sales and marketing director. "I think the kids are having a good time too. I think it gives them a chance to meet someone they've never met before, and you know somebody like a grandparent."

There was no official costume contest, but Karvonen said her favorites were Princess Peach and those who dressed like dinosaurs.
