HOWARD COUNTY, Texas — On Tuesday, Howard County held a grand opening for their new Family Place library space.
The library received a grant through the state to set up a special space for young children to read, along with an area to hold workshops for families.
"We want to provide them with resources, parenting resources, development-appropriate tools and a space to meet other parents and feel welcome and have a space for the kids to enjoy, explore and learn," said Sandra Verdin, director of the Howard County Library.
One of the workshops is called "Building Blocks," which is a five-part series where babies, toddlers and caregivers learn to play and connect with early literacy.
