MIDLAND, Texas — The Midland Soup Kitchen needs your help stocking their pantry.
That includes canned goods of all types, dry pastas and spaghetti sauces.
It's one of the items that are needed the most as the food is used to serve the community free meals.
The Midland Soup Kitchen's executive director is actually the only chef who spends early morning hours in the kitchen cooking the meals for the community.
"I've been cooking [for] 20 years here," Executive Director Nancy Ivy said. "Our pantries are usually full to get us in for the final year starting January. Well, our shelves are empty, we're needing [the] community to come out and help us refill them. We're feeding 130 people a day [compared to what we used to feed which] was 80 to 90."
If you would like to donate, the Midland Soup Kitchen is located at 1401 Orchard Lane in Midland.
You can drop the non-perishable food items off when they open from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
