BIG SPRING, Texas — The West Texas VA Healthcare System in Big Spring just opened a brand new facility Thursday to provide care for local veterans.
The new building, the Small House Community Center, now provides 10 suite-sized units for patients in need of extended stays and specialist care.
"So this has been in development for the last two years," West Texas VA Healthcare System Director Keith Bass said. "This is part of taking care of the veteran's peace. It's a best business practice and its a high standard of care and we're excited to offer this for our veterans."
This is just the first of many units that the center wants to build.
The healthcare center plans to build four more sets in a complex of units for their patients.
