MIDLAND COUNTY, Texas — Odessa mayoral candidate Cal Hendrick was out in the community giving people a chance to hear from him ahead of the November election.
Hendrick held his Meet and Greet Wednesday night at the Shack in the Back.
At the event, the mayoral candidate touched on a number of issues he is looking to fix in the city like water, infrastructure and tackling crime.
Hendrick also said he came back to the place he was born and raised because he believes the city can do better.
"I think people in West Texas maybe due to the ruggedness of where we live, the harshness of the desert environment people are good people, good hearts," Hendrick said. "I moved back to Odessa because it's my home and I love Odessa and I came here to have a career, have a family and I decided to make a run for the mayors office because I care about Odessa and I think we can do better. I think we can be a better city and I think we need to improve and I'm here to help."
Hendrick said he plans to hold a series of eight to 10 Meet and Greets to give the community a chance to learn more about him.
