ODESSA, Texas — The Odessa YMCA can now raise the American Flag outside its facility Friday.
They held a plaque dedication ceremony in the morning for a new flagpole that was constructed mid-September.
Thanks to funds from a veteran and YMCA member, Odessa YMCA was able to celebrate the construction of the flag.
"The YMCA being a 501 CRS it's a service to the community and that's one of the main projects of the American Legion and VFW and AMVETS," said John Curry, member of VFW, AMVETS and YMCA. "So it was a major project for all three organizations to help a family organization."
The Odessa Family YMCA said it is a strong supporter of military families and friends.
