The Bridge holding annual car show fundraiser, pumpkin patch

On Saturday, Oct. 19, The Bridge in Odessa is holding their annual car show, a vendor market and a pumpkin patch.

ODESSA, Texas —

The Bridge Church in Odessa is helping the community get into the spirit of Halloween and Fall while using the proceeds for a good cause.

“The Bridge Patch is all about raising money for the West Texas Food Bank and our Bridge Kids. The Bridge Kids helps them get the camp to ones that can't afford to go to camp or whatever. Anything that they need, it's that helps them do that," said Rhonda Baughman, pumpkin patch coordinator for The Bridge. "So, all the proceeds that we get are split between the two.”

The pumpkin patch has been going on for a while now and the church said they try to make it better every year.

Seeing all the happiness it brings makes it all worth it to them.

“It's one of the best things that we could do. I mean it. You meet somebody, different people, you watch the kids come out here running around, playing on the with the pumpkins and just getting their pictures taken," Baughman said. "And every year they come back, they use the measurement sticks and they measure each year where they are. So this is our 6th year for the pumpkin patch.”

The pumpkin patch will be accompanied by other activities for the community to enjoy.

“Well, this Saturday we're having our annual car show and vendor market. We started the car adding the car show two years ago. So this is our third annual gets bigger and better every year," Baughman said. "The car club guys come out to show off their cars, all the fees that we collect from the cars that register and from the vendors, every bit of that goes towards the food bank and the Bridge Kids."

There will also be food trucks and the whole event starts at 9 a.m. on Saturday at The Bridge Odessa.
