ODESSA, Texas — TXU Energy is teaming up with both Salvation Army of Odessa and Midland to combat summer heat.

On Tuesday, TXU Energy helped open these cooling stations at both locations. These stations will offer bottled water, electrolyte packs and a safe place to stay cool when temperatures reach triple digits. It's expected these stations will be open until at least Labor Day.

These stations are sponsored with an $8,000 donation from TXU Energy's Beat the Heat program.

In addition, TXU Energy also presented The Salvation Army with two $60,000 checks to provide Energy Aid bill assistance to families in West Texas.
