United Way of Midland holds campaign kickoff

The non-profit organization was at Susie's South Forty Confections to address critical needs.

MIDLAND, Texas — The United Way of Midland launched its annual campaign with an exciting kickoff on Tuesday night.

They were at Susie's South Forty Confections to address critical needs in education success, social, health and well being.

Through the campaign, the local non-profit organization also strives to increase workforce development through community driven efforts.

"What we do is, especially our volunteers, they'll go out in the community, they'll figure out what the need is and then we'll collaborate with organizations to make sure that need is filled," said Candice Escamillia, the community development coordinator at United Way of Midland.

United Way said the funds raised during the campaign will support a variety of programs and initiatives designed to build a supportive family system across all generations.
