United Way of Midland partners with Midland College for 'Week of Caring' Food Drive

Midland College is accepting local donations for food drive through Sept. 20.

MIDLAND, Texas — Midland College participates in United Way of Midland's " Week of Caring" food drive throughout the week of September 16 - September 20.

According to a Tuesday afternoon news release, the campus is acting as a hub for local donations, bins are located in the Human Resource office, Scharbauer Student Center and Cowden Dining Hall.

"The Week of Caring Food Drive is designed to support a network of local food pantries that are instruments in providing nourishment to those in need within our community," the release said.

The items collected will benefit the Midland College Food Pantry including other food pantries below: 

  • Bethel Missionary Baptist Church
  • Casa de Amigos
  • Faith Temple Church
  • First Christian Church
  • Jubilee Center of Midland
  • Martin County Food Pantry
  • One Hope Church of Christ

"This initiative is crucial in ensuring that local families have access to essential food supplies. Participation in the "Week of Caring" food drive is not only valued but also fundamental to the success of this endeavor and the overall well-being of our community," Midland College reps said through the release.

  • Peanut Butter

  • Canned Veggies

  • Canned Soup

  • Canned Fruit

  • Canned Meat

  • Cooking Oils

  • Beans

  • Pasta

  • Oats

  • Juice
