MIDLAND, Texas — The Midland Chamber of Commerce hosted its 4th annual West Texas Professional Women’s Symposium Tuesday, offering a powerful lineup of speakers and numerous opportunities for professional and personal growth.
This year’s theme, “Purposeful Choices,” focused on helping women make intentional decisions to reach their goals and become the best versions of themselves.
Women from across the Permian Basin gathered to explore how purposeful decision-making can transform their lives.
Kristen Partridge, the vice president for organizational and leadership development with Triumph Team in Norman, Oklahoma noted that, “We’re met with so many opportunities…only by knowing our purpose can we really make the right ‘yes.’”
The symposium offered discussions on mental and physical wellness, as attendees reflected on what it means to live with purpose. Small exercises led to impactful realizations as participants explored ways to bring intention into their daily lives.
“In Midland, you’re seeing women building businesses that fill a gap in the market,” said Stacy Livingston, founder of Midland AF. “Making purposeful choices for women in West Texas means deciding what you want to do and moving toward that one thing.”
Sessions included tips on navigating the challenges of entrepreneurship, especially for women business owners.
“Knowing when a ‘not right now’ doesn’t mean ‘no’ is essential,” said Jenny Van Doren-Truong, founder and owner of Backstage Event Marketing.
The event emphasized that despite Midland’s reputation as an oil and gas hub, the determination of West Texas women is setting it apart in broader ways.
With talks on "tiny nudges toward happiness" and making small, impactful changes, the symposium provided both inspiration and practical strategies.
Women left the event feeling motivated to pursue their goals and supported by a community of peers eager to help each other succeed.
