What to do with leftover Halloween candy

There's always the option of giving back to the community with candy that you have leftover from Halloween night.

MIDLAND, Texas —

Everyone loves candy, even our troops abroad. That’s why Honor Our Troops in Midland is accepting candy donations to send some sweet care packages to those serving overseas.

NewsWest 9 is sure all of you have a bunch of leftover Halloween candy that you can't eat in any reasonable amount of time.

So what should you do about it?

Honor Our Troops Founder Jim Leascher said there are some troops overseas that don’t get a lot of letters or packages from home, so the care packages are definitely appreciated and often make their days.

The Midland Soup Kitchen is also accepting leftover Halloween candy.

They'll be saving all the candy so that they can then give it all out to the community during Christmas time.

Then, there's always your local Salvation Army whether you're in Midland or Odessa. They’re always open to any kind of donations from the community. Both of them won't say no to leftover Halloween candy.

Sharing your candy with others is better than risking the chance of getting a bunch of cavities.
