BIG SPRING, Texas — A "successful" multi-agency operation was conducted in and around Big Spring on Friday, Oct. 18, leading to multiple arrests, according to Lieutenant Brian Gordon with the Big Spring Police Department (BSPD).
Gordon was able to provide NewsWest 9 with the key operation results below:
Drug Seizures:
- 42.87 grams of methamphetamine
- 4 grams of fentanyl
- 5.3 grams of cocaine
- 1.44 ounces of marijuana
Firearm Seizures:
- 4 firearms, 2 of which were confirmed stolen
Traffic Stops and Vehicle Searches
- 42 traffic stops
- 11 vehicle searches
Arrests:
- 18 individuals arrested on various charges
According to Gordon, the goal of the operation was to target and suppress various criminal activities within the Big Spring community.
All the agencies involved in the operation: BSPD, Howard County Sheriff's Office, Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Highway Patrol, Texas Highway Patrol K-9 Unit, Odessa Police Department and the United States Marshal's Office.
