18-year-old injured after shots fired at his vehicle, the Midland Police Department says

At 4:03 a.m. on Saturday, Midland Police Department officers were called to southwest Midland in reference to shots fired.

MIDLAND, Texas — The City of Midland tells NewsWest 9 that a teen sustained injuries to his feet after his vehicle was shot at Saturday morning in southwest Midland.

According to the Midland Police Department, around 4:03 a.m. Saturday, officers were called to the area of southwest Midland in reference to shots fired on a vehicle. 

When MPD officers arrived, they met with a 18-year-old in the 4000 block of Cedar Spring Dr. who sustained gunshot wounds.

The 18-year-old male stated that he was driving in the 500 block of Devonian Dr. when shots were fired from a residence at his vehicle. 

The teen sustained gunshot wounds to his feet. Those injuries are deemed to be non-life-threatening, according to MPD.

Investigators say they found security camera footage from a nearby residence showing individuals running in the area carrying guns. Officers located multiple shell casings in a driveway on Devonian Dr. 

According to MPD, a search warrant was obtained and executed for that residence and no subjects were located.

No arrests have been made at this time, according to the city, and the investigation is ongoing.
