MIDLAND COUNTY, Texas — A Midland man has been sentenced to three life sentences for child sexual abuse Thursday, according to Midland County District Attorney Laura Nodolf.
Fifty-eight-year-old Jackie Nolan Kocks was a reported repeat offender of child sexual abuse, and had been arrested in 1986 in Mitchell County, where he had to register as a sex offender.
According to the news release, the crimes for which he is charged with are in relation to a 2018-2019 case. Kocks allegedly engaged in sexual activity with a female victim (younger then 14-years-of-age), and exposed genitalia to the same child.
The release continues to say that Judge Jeffery Robnett decided to "assess the maximum possible sentence of life in prison for the indecency charge."
Kocks must serve at least 30 years of his sentence before the possibility of parole. The release would go on to say that "even then this does not mean that parole will be granted."
