Jury votes against death penalty for Angel Lebron-Rivera trial, convicted for capital murder in Midland

Lebron-Rivera will serve life without parole instead.

MIDLAND, Texas — On Thursday, July 18, Midland County District Attorney Laura Nodolf said a jury decided against the death penalty in Angel Lebron-Rivera’s trial. He will serve life without parole instead.

In the 142nd District Court, July 2, a Midland County jury delivered a guilty verdict against Lebron-Rivera, 46, for Capital Murder regarding the 2015 case of two teens whose bodies were found in Midland County.

The trial, which commenced on April 2, 2024, spanned most of April, May, and June.
