BREWSTER COUNTY, Texas — A person was arrested Thursday for bringing in three horses illegally over the border, according to a Brewster County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) Facebook post.
The post states that BCSO was alerted by U.S. Border Patrol to a suspect detained at the Highway 118 checkpoint south of Alpine.
The individual was found with three horses suspected of being illegally imported into Texas. During the investigation, the suspect presented fraudulent documents for the animals.
As a result, the suspect was charged with failure to possess or exhibit a permit or certificate.
The case remains under investigation.
