ECTOR COUNTY, Texas — Ector County Sheriff Mike Griffis tells NewsWest 9 that ECSO Detention Sergeant Jeremy Berry was indicted by a grand jury Monday after the Texas Rangers investigated an allegation against him for violation of civil rights of person in custody/sexual.

ECSO learned that back on July 25, an inmate performed oral sex on Berry. At the time, he was terminated from his position.

Berry turned himself in Thursday and was then later released on a $150,000 bond.
