HOBBS, N.M. — After Hobbs Municipal Schools was but in a SECURE lockdown due to an anonymous threat, a juvenile was arrested, according to the Hobbs Police Department (HPD) on Tuesday.
The anonymous call came in to HPD at approximately 10:40 a.m., threatening the safety of Hobbs Municipal Schools.
Due to the threat being severe, School Resources Officers placed the district in a SECURE.
According to HPD, officers were able to swiftly respond to Hobbs Alternative School and located the person, a juvenile, responsible for making the threatful phone calls.
The juvenile was then arrested.
According to HPD, they were able to confirm that there were no additional threats made to Hobbs schools and all school safety protocols were lifted.
