KERMIT, Texas — Reader's Note: This story entails disturbing and inappropriate information
Fifty-three-year-old Alfonso Chavez, convicted for indecently exposing himself two or more times in the past, was charged with indecent exposure again on Friday, July 26, according to the Winkler County Sheriff's Office.
According to a post from WCSO, deputies were requested to respond to a residence located in the 800 block of South Ave. due to a call about someone who indecently exposed themself.
When deputies arrived, they spoke with the woman who made the call. She told deputies that while sitting in her car in the driveway, her neighbor Chavez removed a piece of plywood that covers an "otherwise open window" to his residence and inappropriately exposed and touched himself in public view.
According to deputies, the woman was able to provide video evidence of the alleged indecent exposure.
The woman told WCSO that Chavez has inappropriately touched himself in the public view in the past. She told deputies that she has made complaints in the past, but never filed criminal charges.
Once deputies reviewed the footage and all the evidence in the case, an arrest warrant for Chavez was filed.
According to a post from WCSO, deputies executed a search warrant on Chavez's residence. Deputies said Mr. Chavez was hiding under a bed, refusing to come outside. Once they made entry, Chavez came out from under the bed and was taken into custody.
Chavez was booked into the Winkler County Detention Center for indecent exposure - two or more previous convictions.
