ECTOR COUNTY, Texas — A man has been arrested in Ector County after it was discovered he stole over $200,000 worth of oilfield equipment, according to the Ector County Sheriff's Office (ECSO).
On Monday, 34-year-old Tomas Rubio Medrano was arrested for theft after he possessed stolen oilfield equipment worth $209,800.
According to ECSO when they interviewed Medrano, he admitted to taking the items without asking for permission from the owner.
ECSO said all the equipment has been recovered.
Deputies are still investigating this case.
According to Ector County jail records, Medrano is being held by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
