Man with warrant for aggravated sexual assault of a child in Midland County arrested in New Mexico

The suspect was believed to be traveling through southern New Mexico enroute to Albuquerque, according to a press release from the New Mexico State Police.

CHAVES COUNTY, N.M. — New Mexico State Police arrested a man in Chaves County, New Mexico, on May 23 after he had a felony warrant out of Midland County for aggravated sexual assault of a child.

According to a press release, on May 23, at around 7 p.m., NMSP were informed to be on the lookout (BOLO) for 23-year-old Kyle Junker, who had an active warrant for aggravated sexual assault of a child out of Midland County. The suspect was believed to be traveling through southern New Mexico enroute to Albuquerque. 

15 minutes after the BOLO was released, NMSP officers were able to locate the vehicle Junker was driving. Junker was then located along Highway 380 near milepost 167 in Roswell, New Mexico.

Junker was arrested and booked into the Chaves County Detention Center.
