Mother in Midland arrested for possible child abuse

Family members on scene told Midland County Sheriff's Office deputies that there was possible physical abuse against a juvenile committed by the juvenile's mother.

MIDLAND COUNTY, Texas — A woman in Midland has been arrested after her family told the Midland County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) that she possibly abused her child, according to Sergeant Thomas Gray with MCSO.

On Tuesday, Oct. 22, MCSO patrol deputies were sent to the 3700 block of West County Road 138 because of child custody issues.

When deputies were on scene, a juvenile told MCSO it was unsafe to go home.

According to Gray, other family members on scene told deputies that the juvenile's mother, Jacqueline Pruneda Hinojos, possibly physically abused the juvenile.

Gray said in a news release that MCSO's Criminal Investigation Division found probable cause to arrest Hinojos for injury to a child.

According to Gray, Hinojos also had a warrant for violation of federal probation.

Hinojos has been booked into the Midland County Central Detention Center on a $100,000 bond.
