Multiple agencies are searching for five following a bailout

Through its Facebook post Sutton County Sheriff's Office is asking the public for any suspicious activity.

SONORA, Texas — Multiple agencies are searching for five people following a bailout in Sonora Monday morning.

A bailout is described as "to run on foot from the scene of a crime or a traffic stop," by Police1.com.

According to Sonora Police Department, "local law enforcement is currently reporting a bailout in the area of Interstate 10, at mile marker 404, near the Loves Truck Stop."

"Approximately five individuals fled from law enforcement in this vicinity, though there is limited information on their descriptions at this time," the report said.

Along with the Sutton County Sheriff's Office, Sonora PD is being assisted by the Texas Department Of Public Safety.

One suspect is described as "wearing a blue shirt and black pants," while authorities does not have a complete description of the individuals who fled."

Law enforcement officers are actively searching the area for these individuals. Residents in and around the Sonora area are advised to remain alert and cautious.

Any suspicious activity in the area is to be reported to Sonora Police Department at 325-387-3888. 

"We greatly appreciate your assistance and cooperation in maintaining safety and security within our community during this ongoing situation," the police said through the report.
