Two Permian High School (PHS) students were charged on Friday, Oct. 4 with sexual assault of two different 15-year-old girls, according to an Odessa Police Department (OPD) affidavit. The students, whose ages were not disclosed, are Jacob Espinoza and Adrian Rodriguez.
According to the affidavit, on Sept. 25, OPD officers were called to a residence because two 15-year-old girls said they were sexually assaulted.
The girls told police that two unknown males who attended PHS were the ones that sexually assaulted them.
The affidavit states that the two girls left Permian High with both Jacob and Adrian and went to a residence and started drinking.
One girl said she felt ill from drinking, went to the bathroom and started throwing up. She told police that while she was in the bathroom, Jacob sexually assaulted her.
According to the affidavit, the other girl told OPD that while she was drinking, "Jaren", also known as Adrian Rodriguez, tried to forcefully have sex with her without consent. She also said that she "blacked out" at some point during the night due to "her level of intoxication." The affidavit states that the next day, she began recalling the incident and said she was missing a pair of underwear that she did not consensually remove. A forensic medical exam conducted on her confirmed "trauma" to her genitalia.
Based on the evidence that OPD gathered from both incidences, Adrian and Jacob were arrested for sexual assault of a child and booked on a $35,000 bond.
According to Ector County jail records, on Sunday, Oct. 6, Adrian bonded out. Jacob has not bonded out.
